All About Dogs Classes

At All About Dogs, we believe that positive reinforcement is the best way to create a happy and confident dog. All our programs run for 6 weeks in length and are offered all year round! To see upcoming dates and to register for classes, please go to our Class Registration page.

First Paw Forward

For puppies 8 – 16 weeks

Our puppy program introduces basic obedience and life skills to help you raise your puppy. It introduces core concepts about marker-based training, while also including structured socialization. This program will help you to establish boundaries at home and employ problem behavior prevention strategies from early puppyhood onwards.

Requirements: First vaccination required before the start of class

Puppy Agility

Puppy agility introduces all the beginner agility concepts, but is for puppies under 8 months of age. Agility training is a great way to build a relationship with your puppy, while also introducing them to new surfaces and equipment to help build their confidence. We also incorporate crate training into the program, which is beneficial in many aspects of a dog’s life.

It is recommended to have started a puppy obedience program before beginning in agility.

Never Too Late

Beginner Obedience

Our Never Too Late program is suitable for older puppies (4 months +), and adult dogs. It focuses on beginner obedience skills, as well as building your relationship with your dog through positive reinforcement. It will help to address common training problems, and teach concepts about how marker-based training works. This class is designed to help you instill the basic commands you will need to communicate with your dog and help him understand the rules of your home

Requirements: Proof of Vaccination

If you and your dog have not participated in a group class before or if you are finding that your adolescent puppy is not as co-operative as you would like, this is the class for you. Remember it is your job to be your dog’s “guide to proper etiquette” when living in a human’s world and make sure you have given your dog the skills and guidance to help him become a fabulous companion animal.

Skills taught in Never Too Late include, but are not limited to:

  • Sit
  • Down
  • Attention/Focus
  • Self Control
  • Mat Training

All exercises are progressive, meaning that skills are built from the first class to the last.

Coming Back for More

Advanced Obedience

Coming Back for More is our second level of obedience for dogs that have successfully completed either the First Paw Forward or Never Too Late class. It continues to build on the skills learned while adding difficulty and duration while also teaching more advanced skills.

Agility Classes

From Beginner to Advanced Level

Dog Agility is a fun sport that involves directing your dog through an obstacle course. We offer a variety of levels, from Beginner up to Advanced (Competitive) level classes.

For those new to the sport, our Beginner Agility classes work on the foundational skills needed to be successful in agility, while also building on your relationship with your dog. If you have prior agility experience and are interested in classes, please contact us to discuss appropriate class level placements.

Requirements for Beginner Agility: Group obedience class (Never Too Late or Coming Back for More)

Rally Obedience

Coming Soon!

Rally Obedience, also known as Rally-O, can be described as obedience exercises performed following numbered signs with instructions. It is a combination of traditional obedience exercises, and is a terrific sport to build a working relationship between dog and handler that will also serve as a foundation for everyday like skills.
