Once they have completed the Beginner Levels 2 & 3,dog and handler teams will be ready for the intermediate level program. The intermediate level is not one 6 week program but rather a group of levels that takes the each team through both handling and skill prep exercises. During this process each team is grouped with other dogs and handlers at a similar level. Some teams may move more quickly through the programs depending on a dogs natural affinity for the sport or a handlers prior knowledge and ability gained through training with a previous agility dog. Typically dogs at this level are learning to perform the teeter totter with confidence and accuracy. Weave poles are developed through the channel method to ensure independent performance and speed in the poles. As each team progresses through this level both handling skills and obstacles skills are developed. Once a team has become proficient on all obstacles and has the ability to navigate full courses they will be ready to move on to the advanced agility program. Throughout our agility training program, emphasis is on building ability and confidence in both the handler and the dog!

Please note that at the intermediate level dog and handlers may remain in the class or level for some time as the class content and challenges will grow within this time frame.
