Agility House League 2017/2018

Description:

Agility House League Logo

Our 8th Annual Agility House League Season Is Here!

Our non-competitive House League is a series of 6 events that are like a "mock trial",
designed to help prepare dog and handler teams for competition
as well as give additional opportunities to learn and grow as a team.

The 2017/2018 House League Dates are:

November  19th
February 4th
December 10th
February 25th
January 14th
March 18th

PLUS MARCH 25th (we are saving this in case we have a snow day this year and need to have an extra Sunday)

In order to accommodate more of our up and coming agility stars, we will be streamlining our participants into 2 divisions ~ a Juniors and Masters League. This will enable us to offer courses and games tailored to all. Dogs in the Juniors League do not need to be proficient on all of the equipment in order to participate, as courses will be designed to accommodate a variety of levels within each group. This year both Juniors and Masters events will take place on the same day (morning and afternoon). We have chosen dates that will not conflict with local agility trials.

Each meet up will offer 3 runs to each dog and handler team. The courses will be a sampling of sanctioned agility games as well as a “non-traditional” game (such as the much loved “tunnelers”) all designed to build confidence, speed, course memorization skills and to help you learn how to think on your feet.

House league events will be run like a trial to help you become familiar with how trialing works and to discover what you need to get you and your dog ready. Participants will be taking turns as trial helpers: building courses, setting bars, straightening chutes as well as judging, timing and score keeping.

Registrants will be grouped into teams consisting of 3-5 dogs. You can either sign up with several friends as a team or let us assign you to a team. We will be employing a scoring system to include the elements of competition to help participants experience the stresses of competing. The goal is to learn to work through this low level pressure in a positive fashion with the support of your team and class mates.

We definitely plan on continuing our traditional pot luck finale and will look forward for a big celebration with all the league members.

If you are not sure which division would suit you best, we will be able to guide you once we have received the registrations. If you are interested in participating please fill in the following form and remit back to the All About Dogs HQ as soon as possible.
