Beginner Show HandlingShow Handling Classes We offer show handling classes for those looking to prepare their young dogs for the conformation show ring. There are also advanced level classes giving experienced handlers an opportunity to fine tune their show rings skills under the guidance of our highly acclaimed instructor, Leo Hui. Leo has bred and shown Australian Shepherds under the Vulcan prefix for 10 years and made a name for himself as an owner/ handler. He handles professionally for his clients and competes in the AKC, CKC and ASCA venues, finishing numerous championship titles on his own dogs and others, including Specialty winners and awards at the National level. Leo has also competed successfully in the obedience ring and has had many years experience as an instructor. Leo writes: "Understanding how to train and get a show dog ready for the ring, needs commitment and training, not to mention a basic understanding on how the show ring works. Hopefully I'll be able to pass on some of my knowledge (and mistakes!!) to my students so when they walk into the show ring they will feel confident and comfortable to handle different situations." Our small group classes allow plenty of individual attention for you and your dog, increasing your chance for success in the breed ring. Our training hall is fully matted with non-slip cushioned flooring. This allows for your dog's ease of movement without risk of slipping. Our conformation handling classes have been well received by Leo's students: "Can't recommend this class enough!! Leo is great and the content is fantastic. I've done drop in classes, and full-day seminars and I got more out of one class with Leo than all the other's combined." ~ Jennifer Lennon – Tollden Farms "I have since gotten Paris' CGN and showed her at her first match and won Best in Match/Best Puppy in Match. :) Handling classes = results." ~ Dianna & Paris The classes run for an hour a week for six weeks and are limited to six dogs. The cost for the program is $205 (plus HST). Day and evening classes are available. |
